I got the idea for a Command Center from my favorite Junkie.
I keep it on the wall in our playroom because (1) It's right by the pegs where we keep all our bags (school, church, purse etc.) (2) The computer is in the playroom and I can log everything into my Yahoo! calendar and (3) It's the biggest area where I had the blank wall space. When we paint the playroom (hopefully in the next few weeks I think I am going to replace the corkboard with cork tiles to be able to expand and have more clips but for now it's really working well.
I used large binder clips held by push pins and labeled over each one what types of papers go where.

I have the following categories determined by what we needed to keep track of most and everyone knows where to put put things and more importantly to find them when they're needed.
- SCHOOL INFO - papers for upcoming events, benchmark list, things that don't have to be turned in but that I need to keep visible.
RETURN TO SCHOOL - each weeks homework sheet (she's in Kindergarten so we only have one sheet of homework per week), permission slips, enrollment form - you get the idea, anything that needs to be returned.
CHURCH - again the same idea, I have a copy of the church directory here and anything else I might need to remember or turn in.
This system has not completely tamed by paper tiger but for these things it WORKS FOR ME!!
